I Stopped Using Duolingo 🤧

Here’s Why:

Duolingo is easy… almost too easy. It does not challenge me enough to actively learn the language.

And look at how dramatic he is !! He looks like he’s dying from lack of attention (relatable tbh) 😭

🪄 Why I Use Falou Instead:

- The courses have Speaking, Writing, then a Challenge. This can vary depending on the language you choose to learn. Italian has Listening and Word-by-Word in addition to these three.

- In writing lessons, you can choose to put words in order or use the keyboard instead! :)

- Falou helps with pronunciation!! I have times where I have to repeat the words 5-6 times until I finally pass it. 😭

- The certificates are cute and keep me motivated.

- They track your progress! Every so often, they make a video of your progress with pronunciation from different lessons. You can download and share this!

- You’re not competing with others or trying to stay on a leaderboard. I found Duolingo to be exhausting with the friends and leaderboard aspect.

- They have a streak system as well, but it doesn’t feel as pressuring as Duo.

- The only con of Falou is you’re very limited in the free version.
