If you’re traveling to Mexico here are my tips and recommendations on how to travel this beautiful country on a budget.
To save money while in Cancun I recommend taking the local bus since it takes you everywhere and each ticket costs 💰Price:$0.66 and instead of fancy restaurants go to street markets or local restaurants. I was eating delicious tacos for $1.
This is an expensive area since there are so many tourists on vacation, but I managed to find affordable accommodation. I stayed at Casa Barka in the center for💰Price:$9 a night for a private room and I really liked this guesthouse.
Don’t eat at beach restaurants if you don’t want to spend your budget on food. The farther from the center you go, the cheaper it will be.
To get to this island, I took a boat from Playa del Carmen for 💰Price:$12 round trip. There are plenty of affordable accommodations here. I stayed at Casa Hermana for 💰Price:$7 a night, private room. There is limited transportation around the island, so you’ll need to rent a scooter. I paid 💰Price:$10 for the whole day.
I thought Tulum would be very expensive since it’s such a popular destination, but I managed to travel for cheap. There are plenty of nice hostels in Tulum starting as low as 💰Price:$5 a night, and to rent a bike to explore, I paid 💰Price:$4. The food was also not that expensive. I ate most of the time at the Mexican Mini House and never paid more than 💰Price:$4 for a meal.
