tried a couple of months… finally a slot at THE LUGGAGE MARKET. i kept refreshing the page before it hit 8pm when slots are released, went for express check out & here we are!

we came at 10am… not expecting anyone to have set up but at 10.30am i already had 2 purchases from customers.

something you should expect is the NEGOTIATING… low-balling at $1/piece or going from 3 for $10 to 5 for $10…. make sure to really bring clothes that you’re ok with letting go CHEAP.

💰 PRICING 💰

💡be prepared to not sell your clothes >$5

💡prepare SPARE CHANGE, most paid using CASH

💡3 for $10 (10am-3pm) ➡️ 3 for $8 (3-4.30pm) ➡️ $2/pc (4.30pm) ➡️ $1/pc (5pm) ➡️ 5 for $1 (5.50pm), depending on how other sellers were pricing their items

💡try and sell as many in the first few hrs, 4pm onwards usually $1-2/piece

👖 CLOTHING 👚

💡crowd mostly middle age/domestic workers, they like oversize shirts, dresses, long skirts, crop tops, skinny jeans, exercise shorts

because i was left with some pieces, i left it at the donation corner!

OTHERS

💡bring tissue, mask, hand sanitizer – it is REAL dusty 😷

💡write prices on CARDBOARD or SKETCH BOOK (make it BIG)

💡many customers asked for plastic bag, prepare ahead!

💡engage with customers on what they are looking for & introduce them pieces

💡i also pretended to be a customer at one point because there wasn’t anybody at our lane and IT WORKED… more people came to check out

also… there will be alot of people shouting prices 🗣️

will i RECOMMEND it?

YES if you have a ton of clothes to sell & you’re willing to let them go CHEAP. otherwise… it’s not very worth to sell each piece for $5 or less. the revenue only accumulates when you have alot to sell.
