You are here probably because recently you feel low and things that once brought you joy starts to feel meaningless or we stop taking pleasure in things we used to enjoy which I like to call it Anhedonia hehe. Anywayyyy you are here also because you wanna improve yourself right~
Lets first understand the root cause~ Feeling demotivated can stem from various factors, like:
🖤 Burnout: Overworking or lack of rest can lead to physical and mental exhaustion.
🖤 Lack of Goals: Unclear or unattainable goals can create a sense of aimlessness.
🖤 Negative Self-Talk: Critical inner dialogue can undermine confidence and motivation.
🖤 External Stressors: Life challenges, such as financial issues or relationship problems, can sap energy and focus.
🖤 Fear of Failure: Worrying about not succeeding can make one hesitant to take action.
🖤 Isolation: Lack of social support can lead to feelings of loneliness and discouragement.
🖤 Routine Monotony: Repetitive tasks can make life feel uninspiring.
🖤 And many more
✨MOTIVATION✨
Its the feeling of enthusiasm / drive to do something or a sudden urge and excitement to complete something
Okayy, here are some of the ways Ive learnt from the book by Dr Julie Smith - “Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?” - very good book btw ~
1️⃣ Move your body
Exercise, Find something easy. Add in good music friends. When you feel like not doing it, fight against the urges
Exercising can significantly boost mental health by releasing endorphins, which improve mood and reduce stress. Doing this regularly helps alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, enhances self-esteem, and promotes better sleep. It also encourages social interaction and provides a sense of accomplishment, contributing to overall emotional well-being.
2️⃣ Staying connected with the goals
Spend time reconnecting your goals.
Act fast - the moment and idea comes up. Don wait, write them down and start doing it. If the idea is not fresh in our minds, we will quickly lose the momentum.
You can do this through journaling by listing 1 or 2 things you will do today - not too time consuming, just a few minute of your day.
This ensures that you are accountable to yourself everyday and you will likely feel more confident and respect yourself
3️⃣ Keep it small
We already don feel like doing so why make a long list of goals, keep it short (unless you arre confident to take on more, but always remember not to overwhelm yourself and know your limits. It might make things worse instead then we might likely try again. Keep it moderate)
4️⃣ Celebrate small wins
You need to acknowledge your progress and small victory
5️⃣ Rest and replenish
There are multiple studies that shows that having enough sleep and having a well balance diet can improve your overall mental and health so yes rest is important
6️⃣ Changing your r/s with failure
We often associate failure with unworthiness to protect ourselves from psychological shame / threat
We often self sabotage before it get started. In other word: Mindset ✨
7️⃣ Practice self compassion
Avoid self criticism, treat yourself with kindness, respect and give yourself word of encouragements
Replace negative thoughts “im not good enough” with “its okay, I did my best”, “at least i’ve tried” 🤍
