I am 26 years old and the last year I have been focusing on healing my PCOS + hormones.

I have been through a lot with my health and have some more tips that I will share in a part 2!

My biggest tip is: LISTEN to your own body, no one else's!!! Through trying to heal my hormones holistically, I have learned that there is SO much information on the internet, almost to a fault, with trying to help women heal their hormones....when everybody's BODIES are so different.

We all have different living environments, different stress levels, different genetics, different lifestyles. What works for one person, might not work for the next and so that is the BIGGEST tip I can give overall (+ to be an advocate for yourself when you need to be.)

Here are a few tips that have helped me in my healing journey:

🌞Limit caffeine intake ~ I actually took out caffeine completely. I was the girl drinking 2 coffees a day + energy drinks, DAILY!!! I was working 4 jobs and trying to keep my energy up for the day, so thought caffeine was helping. But it was giving me adrenal fatigue, and also hurting my hormones, which was making my PCOS symptoms symptoms worse (weight gain, insomnia Once I cut out caffeine completely, I have had weight loss, MORE energy + overall a balance of my hormones.

🌞Cut out processed food ~ Processed food contains additives, sugars + gums that we have no idea about. This increases inflammation. When there is inflammation, there is disease. We are trying to heal our bodies (reduce disease) so the least inflammation, the better for healing.

🌞7-8 hours of sleep ~ Women with PCOS already struggle with sleep (which is why a lot of our symptoms are worsened) so trying to create a wind down routine to help you sleep is so important. Sleep is when the body does its healing. If you have a hard time sleeping + creating a wind down routine, try: turning your phone off an hour before bed, setting your phone to red light at bed time, have a sleepy cocktail, take a hot shower. Do things to help you sleep as best as you can.

I am not a health practitioner + these are things that have helped me personally. I recommend getting a dutch hormone test if you can to figure out more of your symptoms and what will help heal YOUR body.
