Roadtripping in Scotland! 🥃🚙📸

Hey Zesties! Dedicating the first post to my most recent trip to good ol Scotland 🫶 We considered New Zealand as well but went with Scotland because the weather conditions in August were better (for road trips)! Truth be told, I had major anxiety when planning as I've never planned for a road trip before & am frankly not a spontaneous traveller 🫣 BUT you don't have to!

Here's what we did, where we stayed, and how we get to places for the 12 days (in pics & word vomit) –

✈️ Flight: Flew with Qatar to/from Edinburgh, unfortunately did not have enough points to upgrade to the famous Q suites

🚙 Rental: We rented with Arnold & Clark and had the best experience! They were responsive via email, friendly, and the condition of the car was great! We had a Mazda 2 & it could fit our 2 big ass luggages & everything else. I've read tons of reviews of other companies and they were soooo bad, so you could imagine how relieved I felt when everything went smoothly! One breakdown and our plans would have been ruined 😅

💲800 SGD for 11 days (incl insurance)

🧳 Packing for the trip: Scotland's weather changes every 5 minutes; it can be sunny one minute and pouring the next, then sunny again 😶‍🌫️ So be prepared and get a good windbreaker / coat from Trespass (their local brand) with a hood! We also got hiking shoes from Decathlon (<$50 a pair) and these were easily the best buys ever; we walked in mud and stepped in streams (not puddles) and our feet remained dry and clean throughout?!

🏡 Accoms: Stayed in a mix of AirBnBs, hotels, and bed and breakfast place. No particular reason why, just the most convenient & value for money option in each location!

In short, we went from Edinburgh > Inverness > Isle of Skye > Glencoe > Arrochar > back to Edinburgh before flying back to reality (see map & subsequent pics!!) 🌅
