You don’t need 10 days in Iceland

I know so many people will tell you need a week to ten days to do the full ring road but, honestly you could save yourself the time and just do 5. You probably could do it in 4 if you just packed everything in. I personally think the best thing to do is spend a few nights in Reykjavik and a few nights in Vik and just do daytrips. I know people rent the camper vans but the gas is so expensive that it makes more sense to rent a smaller car and stay in Hotels. Personally I’d probably go to Vik first and drive right from the airport and stay at Hotel Kira. There isn’t a ton of options so I feel like it makes the most sense to go there and stay in the less nice hotel first then go splurge at The Edition in Reykjavik. There are obviously other options but those are my favorites. Now if you take any advice from this post please do yourself a favor and stay in the less nice hotel first. I made this mistake once and let’s just say it’s hard to appreciate an okay hotel after staying at a great one. Let me know in the comments if you think 5 days is enough in Iceland.
