Books about real life people eaters

Okay. It’s spooky season. We can’t talk about spooky season without real life spooky stuff. Come at me all you want. I know I’m not the only weird girly out there into true crime, has a favorite serial k!ller, and likes gore. And if I am, I don’t mind.

All of these books are based on true stories. Most of them are very very very depressing. And you obviously know that there’s gonna be some gruesome stuff in these pages. So don’t read it if it’s not your thing.

Dahmer and Clarke are awful people and I am in no way applauding them for their crimes. Do your research and remember the victims first. While Dahmer will always be the most fascinating serial k!ller to me, he’s still a monster and got everthing he deserved. If you’re gonna come at me with “how could you, they’re monsters”, get in line. We all know true crime freaks like me exist. And, we know that extreme horror fiction novels exist with fake serial

k!ller, so let’s not pretend that you’re not just a little bit fascinated.

While Alive and In the Heart of the Sea made me sooooo very sad, very very very sad in fact, the Donner party books made me very very angry. I felt, and this is just my two cents, I felt as though a lot of things could have been handled differently. Like they could have been smarter with the choices they made. Not to mention, these people were just straight savages. The boys in Alive and the men in the boat, they felt.. maybe bad isn’t the right word. And what happened to them were accidents. I don’t know. Read them and tell me what you think.

So, do you like spooky stuff? Do you like true crime? Who’s your favorite head case? Can you stomach books about real life crimes and incidences like these? Try to read them with an open mind. Some of them are absolutely heartbreaking.
