Thomson confinement Tingkat, is it worth it?

This is my third confinement, so I roughly know what I want.

🚫No confinement nanny for me as we are not comfortable with another stranger in the house and dont want heavy cooking at home everyday. I am fully breastfeeding (latching) my mil stay over on weekdays to help so we felt that there is not really a need for a confinement nanny.

Opted for delivery at KKH A1 ward instead of private hospital ward as I felt that this is more value for money. Which leaves me more budget for catering selection woohoo!

🍛I am particular about the food I put in my mouth especially during confinement.

I followed confinement rules quite strictly. I researched and read up about TCM. Only drank warm red dates or soup, covered up in long sleeves and pants. Avoided the fan but on small aircon. I know nobody does that now but its my body I do it my way.

🌤️Thermal Container

I selected Thomson Medical Confinement Tingkat as they deliver in thermal containers to ensure food are warm. (The red date drink are also in thermal flask) This is the most expensive among other tingkat but it was well worth. During confinement its important we eat only warm food, they mentioned that we do not have to wash the containers. Me being slight ocd I cannot tahan putting unwashed item back in the bag so I will wear my glove and roughly rinse it.

As I delivered via c-sec, I was recommended not to eat chicken during the first week which they cant change so I adjust the tingkat date to come on the 8th day. First 3 days taking hospital food, next 4 days my mom cook for me alternate with ordering from other confinement tingkat trials set.

🍲Huge Food Portion

The food portion is huge I cant finish in 1 seating, sometimes I will keep and reheat for dinner or tea break. For dinner my mom will sometimes cook and bring over to me in thermal containers 🥰

This is an honest review, I paid $1228 for lunch package only no sponsor.

🤤Taste and Menu

The dishes are flavorful and not too salty or oily. Even though I enjoy western food, I want this 28 days to be nourishing period for me and my baby. Thus I am pleased that they only serve Chinese herbal food in the menu.

I love vingear trotter, but Thomson medical only serve this dish about 2 times so I will order via grab from etc lao jiang, dian xiao er. I get to eat what I want and save money!

✅Confinement delivery Hacks

Restaurant that delivers confinement food:

Dian Xiao Er - Chinese wine chicken, black vinegar trotter, Ginseng kampong chicken

Soup Restaurant - Double boiled soup

Lao Jiang - Vinegar Pork trotter, chicken wine soup

Song Fa - Bakuteh, trotter, kidney soup, Liver soup

Tip: I drank HOT bubble tea to liven up the confinement! There is some caffeine in tea, I close eye for this part.

👉Verdict

Yes it is totally worth it, felt good from eating good quality warm food everyday.

I don't follow the standard procedure and find hacks to adjust to my needs yet following the confinement rules. Hope this sharing helps you in someways. It is more hassle but I enjoyed my food!
