Choosing Arts & Design Over Med School

If I could go back and tell my younger self that one day I’d build a career in arts and design with projects around the world, she’d probably just laugh. Back then, I thought I’d be heading into medicine—I loved science and thought my path was set. Even after choosing multimedia arts as my degree, I struggled. I wasn’t the top student, and creativity didn’t always come naturally.

Looking back now, I’m amazed at how much I’ve grown. From K-pop fan commissions and events with friends to freelance gigs and projects at my first corporate job, each experience taught me something new. I know there’s still so much more to learn, and I want to keep that sense of wonder alive.

Sometimes, it’s good to pause and appreciate how far you’ve come. To my younger self: you’ve got this, and things will turn out better than you ever imagined.
