Get from Macau to China within 15 mins 🇲🇴📌🛍

My mom is from Macau, having lived there for a good 20-30 years of her life, so I too have been to Macau countless times. So people always ask me what exactly is there to do in Macau? It is a smol country yes, but I mean there’s always China, just like how in Singapore, we have JB. Hong Kong have Shen Zhen, same for Macau - they have Zhuhai.

I’m sure most people don’t actually know this, so here is a quick guide to getting to China from Macau.

🦶HOW TO GO🦶

1. Bring yourself to the Macau > Zhuhai Border Crossing, Portas do Cerco (关闸）either through bus or taxi. Macau has no grab or train so you’re gna have to google map your way there.

2. After which, you’ll be able to see which gate is the going out and which is going in just from the direction that people are walking. Find the entrance and take the escalator up, that’s the first border (Macau border), head to the International Visitors row and get your passport choped.

3. Then you will follow everyone and continue walking, and there will be an escalator going down, just keep following everyone and keep going. Not long after you’ll find yourself at the China side border, same thing head to the visitors row and wait to get choped.

🎊 And WALA~ You’re in Zhuhai! 🥳 It’s even easier than going from SG > JB, you don’t even need to take bus or train to get to the JB border. It’s all literally by foot for just a 10 min walk.

💎 PRO TIP 💎

- Once you’re in, you’ll see an escalator that goes down, that will bring you to the Zhuhai Port Plaza aka the Zhuhai Underground Shopping Center (珠海口岸购物广场). This is similar to your City Square in JB. It’s pretty big, with a wide variety of restaurants, retail outlet and almost everything you need, sometimes I will just spend my whole day there and then head back to Macau. If you have a short schedule, that’s what you can do. Beyond the Zhuhai underground mall, you can also walk on the ground level to the nearby shops, restaurants and markets as well.

- Otherwise, you can also head 1 more lvl down from the underground mall and find yourself at the taxi stand where u can use the Didi app and call yourself a grab to head to other malls like the one I went called Youte Plaza

- If you wish to head to other parts of China like Shenzhen or Guangzhou, you also can walk around 2 mins from ground level of the Zhuhai border to the Zhuhai Railway Station Ticket Office and buy ticket to head to other states. (Or you can buy ticket in advance from the Alipay app so you won’t have the issue of tickets selling out or missing trains)
