felt like commuting in the west is a bit of a struggle? for many of us westies, the mrt is essential for getting around. we rely on it to travel between boon lay, clementi, and jurong east to the city center. but when those trains get too crowded or disruptions occur, our options are limited.

with the government's bus service connectivity programme (bsep) underway, there's an opportunity to enhance bus services in the west. more bus alternatives can ease congestion on the east-west line and improve connections to major mrt interchanges like buona vista, helping us keep our daily routines on track. here are some ideas i have:

1️⃣ bus 10: by extending from kent ridge ter to clementi interchange, it will cater to commuters along clementi rd, clementi ave 1, and clementi mrt. the extension offers a direct route for those traveling to nus business and engineering schools, while also providing an alternative for clementi residents heading to the cbd and harbourfront.

2️⃣ bus 99: extending this service to buona vista ter would significantly enhance access for commuters from jurong west and jurong east to the major interchange at buona vista mrt, providing another viable option to the crowded bus 198. this extension will be especially beneficial during peak hours, offering riders a reliable option to reach one-north and avoid the packed trains.

3️⃣ bus 52: connecting this route to tengah interchange is crucial as clementi evolves into a major transport hub with the upcoming cross island line. this amendment will open new pathways for tengah residents, enhancing connectivity to various parts of singapore.
