Hello y’all insomniacs! I know some people may find it hard to fall asleep and this can be mildly infuriating when you have to wake up early the next day. Sometimes the thought of having to wake up earlier and knowing you only have THAT little amount of sleep just puts you in a worried-mood and then the more you can’t sleep! 😭

Falling asleep isn’t just some “ok SLEEP!” then you fall asleep kind of thing. However, there actually may be a magic to it! I dont abide to the “no phone before you sleep” advice because lets say real, who actually does that HAHAHAHAH okay maybe you do, but I dont :( I literally lock my phone before I sleep. So here are some of #MyGoTo tips I do that help me sleep so much faster and better at night! 🤍🤍🤍🤍

1. Turning on the aircon, or at least lower the temperature in your room.

I think this is the MAIN factor that helps me fall asleep easily. I realised I always roll around in bed HAPPILY when the room is cold. Imagine that big and thick blanket plus your cold room. THAT. IS HEAVEN. 🎇Studies also show that a colder room helps you to fall asleep easier and have a bette good night’s sleep. Also, you wont sweat = you wont get woken up by random night sweat (which is real irritating I swear)

2. Put on a room diffuser.

room diffuser works best in an enclosed room. The smell stays longer and you dont waste that money??? I love to put on Lavender scent when I sleep. Just a Personal preference, I love lavender because it smells SO GOOOOOD and calming.

👉🏼 Once you’re done with your devices, go to bed and do these!

4. Have a good full body stretch! You can simply do this on your bed since you’re already preparing to sleep. Body stretches help to relieve tensions in your muscles and boy you’ll feel super good after!

5. 3 min of deep breathing. This is great because you get all the oxygen you can get to clear your head. Sleeping with a clear head clears out all the thoughts you have at that point in time. Take that 3 mins to solely focus on your breath and feel the expansion in your lungs.

What I like to do> first 5 deep breaths - breathe in till max and hold for 5 secs, breathe out fully and hold (empty lungs) for 3 secs. Repeat. This is easily 1-2 mins

6. For the next min, you will just breathenormally, feeling your chest expand and contract with every breath.🫶🏻

7. Lie down in supine position and then relax your body, still focusing breath. This is the final kick that helps me fall asleep almost instantly! Of course, no phones after!

So here are mygoto tips fro having a better night sleep and I hope they helped you fall asleep faster! It dosent compromise your screen time (though by right you should keep it early) and these steps probably take only 10 mins max!
