As a low-intensity 🧘🏻♀️ girlie, yoga has always been my go-to! But since I've started my internship, I’ve been feeling lethargic 🥱 from sitting down all day, and getting body pains from looking at my laptop 💻👩🏻💻
I wanted to incorporate a higher intensity 💥 workout into my routine, and found a studio that offered a combination of resistance pilates and short-burst cardio that sounds much more manageable as compared to hiit and circuit training programs 😰 They opened round the corner from my office and was the perfect place to start! 🫶🏼
Read my review on Strong Pilates here !
🌷I didn’t expect much from the classes other than to increase movement amidst my sedentary lifestyle. With that said, I also kept to my regular diet 🍳 consisting of a morning snack, with proper lunch and light dinner.
🌷Results/ Changes I’ve noticed from 3 weeks of pilates and cardio at Strong:
🤍 My posture got better
I didn’t feel much of a difference in my day-to-day life, but in photos📸 I could tell that I was standing taller and my general back pain reduced overall!!
🤍 My body got more toned
Despite numbers on the scale maintaining, I could tell by the way my clothes👖fit, that my body got slimmer as fat percentage went lower. My arms and abs also showed more definition 💪🏼 and felt a lot stronger than before! 😊
🤍 Bubble butt??
I’m quite surprised with this as certain dresses that used to fit me overall are now more relaxed at the waist and tighter at the bum 🍑. I guess pilates does work your midriff a lot more than usual! 🥵
🌷With low intensity activities, I find it much more manageable to 🕐 commit daily. I try to clock in a workout every weekday morning 📅 before work, which also re-adjusted my sleep schedule 😴🌙
🌷 Getting into pilates is tough 🫡, so I make sure to always make micro adjustments during my sets so that I’m targeting the right muscle group.❗️After each class, I would also take 10-15mins to stretch so that it doesn’t feel tight the next day (soreness can really bum you out)!
It makes me really excited 🫶🏼 that I can see results and feel a difference in my body after a mere 3 weeks, and these subtle changes motivates me to continue clocking in classes <3 😍
