How much I’ve made since graduating college!

⭐️ context - I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. In 2020 I graduated with my masters of science in library science

✨ library associate - I thought maybe I wanted to be a librarian so I got a job at the school library because my boyfriend (now husband) had another year of school to finish. I loved the campus and library vibes but the work was slow at times and the money really was nothing.

✨ graduate student assistant - this was the same job as my first one but at this other university it was in a different department. I got a little more money here but mostly I got this job because we moved for my boyfriends job.

✨ technical writer I - in 2021 we decided we wanted to move to the big city so we needed big city jobs. This was my first “career” position and tech writing is now what I plan on doing for the rest of my working years. I had no actual tech experience when they hired me and I’m grateful for all they were willing to teach me

✨ technical writer III - one day a recruiter reached out to me about an 11 month contract position at a MANGA company. I interviewed thinking I wouldn’t get it and was offered the position. I left my PTO, 401k match, hopped on my husbands health insurance and took the leap. I have been at this job for 1 year and they have extended me to July 2024. The math says if I worked every day of the year you could with no holidays I would make ~$104,000 but I do just take unpaid days when needed so it comes to about $95,000
