books to read in your 20s

As teenagers we usually long for the moment we reach our 20s but then that time comes, there is no doubt we might feel a little out of place or “lost.” Which is why here are 3 of my favorite books that i think are vital to our 20s.

Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton, follows the life of a teenager all through out entering womanhood, love, friendships, loss, and self-discovery. This book does not only talk about romantic love but more importantly, platonic love. We actually realize that love really is all around.

All About Love by Bell Hooks, navigates similar topics to the ones mentioned previously in Alderton’s book. However, All About Love makes us think about love and how it is connected into our lives and in everything that we do. From our own self-love to the community love. Hooks does not only write about love in general but she writes about it making an impression in our culture and one another.

My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh. This book depicts a very raw and accurate insight on how it is to live with constant depression. Life could feel heavy and overwhelming at times and the way Moshfegh wrote about it is truly genius yet unhinged.
