i can’t believe this place only has 3.7 stars…

hey semua! i recently stopped by a beach cafe & bar in batam with my family and thought i’d share my thoughts. it has a 3.7-star rating on google, with many pointing out its subpar service and food.

we dropped in at 7pm (local time) on a wednesday, and it was pleasantly uncrowded. we settled on bean bags by the beach and ordered a variety of items, including a chicken mee soto, a snack platter, a lychee mojito and an iced caramel macchiato. our total bill had an added 3% service charge and 10% tax.

the lychee mojito had a good balance of sweet and sour. my personal favorite was the iced caramel macchiato, even though its serving size was smaller than the mojito's. as a frequent drinker of iced caramel macchiatos, i was pleased with its taste.

however, the snack platter and chicken mee soto were pretty average. the portion sizes, especially the mee soto, were on the smaller side. yet, that might be typical given the usual serving sizes in indonesia. i’d advise skipping the meals and maybe just opt for light snacks to accompany your drinks.

their beverages are pretty top-notch, and the evening views are stunning, making it a lovely spot to relax. just a heads up, if you sit on the bean bags, watch out for mosquitoes and ants. consider wearing long sleeves or bringing repellent. also, i wouldn’t recommend going in the afternoon as it may get pretty warm… go there after 5pm! 😁

overall, while my family and i had a decent time, your experience might vary, especially if you visit during busier times. if you're looking to unwind with loved ones, it's worth a visit. ☺️ it’s a good dating spot!
