Growing up as a kid I always had thick thighs and I hated them.
🫠 Wearing shorts, skirts and bathing suits always made me feel self conscious!
I would always compare myself to other girls/ women.
Why can't I have thinner thighs?
Why do my inner thighs always rub against each other?
Ugh I hate my genetics
Nothing is working for me!
As I grew older, I ran, lifted weights, hired a personal trainer, extreme diets … you name it and I did it. And my thighs always seemed to bulk up – no matter what I tried.
Then I discovered Pilates workouts after I injured my knee at the gym. Pilates workouts were a GAME changer for my legs.
The Pilates exercises were low impact and didn't aggregate my knees and helped me strengthen the muscles around knees:
✅ Inner thigh muscles / VMO’s
✅ Hamstrings, glutes and Hip muscles
✅ Feet and ankles
The spring resistance workouts were exactly what my body type needed in order to slim my legs.
The weight training I was doing before was too much for my body:
❌ I was over training – no days off
😫 Doing tons of HIIT workouts
❌ Only doing squats. I was over working my quad muscles … This is why my thighs kept bulking up. Emoji
😫 Not eating enough protein
The Pilates workouts strengthened and toned all the muscles in my legs, helping me fix my knee pain and slim my legs.
DISCLAIMER: I currently lift weights about 2x a week – I'm not hating on weight training. I learned how to eat healthier nutrient dense meals to help reach my fitness goals.
If you've been struggling with slimming down your legs, I recommend giving these exercises a go.
Btw, my inner thighs still touch and I LOVE my curves my mama gave me! I learned how to love and appreciate my body as I've grown older.
