The last slide sums up my main point of this post but as someone who is cooking more this is the grocery shopping formula I use. Mind you this is a list for a person of one or two. I normally grocery shop at #traderjoes and #wholefoods . Biweekly period one is my Whole Foods place and biweekly period two is my Trader Joe’s place.
Veggies & Fruit:
Only get veggies and fruits you 100% know you will eat within a week to two weeks. If it takes you longer to eat them then for fruit get apples and veggies get broccoli.
Meats: Buy in bulk
Tbh I freeze all my meats just in case, so I suggest doing the same. However if you thaw it out later you have to cook it, you can’t put it back in the fridge or freezer. I recommend putting your meat in portions a head of time in zip lock baggies. Therefore you only thaw what you need.
Non perishables: buy in bulk
Stock up on non perishables slowly such as pasta,
rice, oatmeal, cereal, etc
Pasta Sauces
These actually last a long time unopened!
