8 months into my new job, I QUIT

After just eight months of staying at my full-time corporate job, I decided to leave and go freelance in May.

The main reason is because of the location. It’s not very accessible and some parts of the site is unsheltered, making it tough to enter and exit the building.

I also wished that I was able to work from home on some days. Tbh, my job as a social media manager specialising in copywriting doesn’t really require me to be chained to my office desk.

With my own laptop and WIFI, I can easily work from anywhere. So it came to a point where I saw it as quite redundant, and the organisation wasn’t going to allow employees to wfh.

At the same time, the office was very rundown. The ceiling lights and chairs were faulty; the environment wasn’t clean (especially the fridge which reeked of decomposed food!?) and there were little benefits.

I understand that not all of us can afford to quit our jobs just because we no longer love it or its environment, but for me, it’s always been if you’re unhappy then you have to do smth about it to make yourself feel happy again.

After all, work life takes up such a huge part of our lives so why be stuck in something that you’re unhappy with?
