I don’t really weigh myself that often but I can confidently say I have been able to decrease my overall body fat percentage and significantly decrease bloating and inflammation.
The 2 main ways I was able to do this shouldn’t come to a suprise: I ate less, and was active more.
I will be honest… I was eating too much. When I wad obsessed with weightlifting and achieving new prs and goals I was constantly thinking about what I was gonna eat next and if I was getting enough protein in. I think being in this mindset made it particularly easy to eat too much. I would eat when I was event hungry and always finish my meals. I also think it has been too normalized to eat 3 meals a day if not more and to eat large portions to the point where you are slightly uncomfortably full.
PSA: I do not condone under eating and extreme calorie deficits. I still eat enough food and calories! I simply eat smaller portions and only when I’m hungry or need energy.
I also shifted my focus to overall body movement and activity rather than just going to the gym for 2 hours a day. I still weight lift 5 days a week but I also try to walk a lot and do other forms of exercise that I can fit into my daily schedule. Recently I’ve been getting 10-15k steps in a day.
