If you’ve been following my outfit posts, you’d know I love mixing and matching basics! Keeps the wardrobe nice and spacious.

Here are some pieces that I wear on repeat in rotating combinations:

1. Knitted vest. I really like that it’s in between formal and casual. For work, I wear something inside cuz mine is pretty low cut. But you could dress it up with work pants, or down with a pair of bermudas. Very versatile!

Striped knit vest: Massimo Dutti

Black dress: Klarra

2. Dark wash denim. Never underestimate the power of a pair of good jeans. You’ll have to try a few to finally figure out what works for you, and what works for me may not be for you.

3. Striped shirt. You can really not go wrong with a stripe shirt. Small stripe, big stripe. This basic will take you from beach holidays to office wear. This one I have is a little worn out, so I’m on the lookout for a suitable replacement.

4. Wide leg linen pants. A must have for the SG humidity. Natural fabric, wide flowy cut. Lounge around in it, contrast with a more formal shirt for effortless vibes. Wear it with a bikini top at the pool side. So many options!

5. Tank top. Find a cut that fits you and invest in a really good quality one. Mine are from cotton on and I have it in black, white and grey. They wash okay, on gentle cycle. I have worn them to death. 😅

6. Midaxi/ maxi linen skirt. This was a new addition in my wardrobe this year. I was on the lookout for one that wasn’t sheer, so this FTO one hit the mark. Though it’s a little short on me. I still think it elevates a simple look.

7. Wide leg cream pants. I find cream pants to be better pairing against colours (not that i wear a lot of it) but sometimes black weighs the outfits down. I wear these cream pants at least once a week.

8. Cream/ white denim. I got this pair of cream high waisted denim in Spain during my exchange in 2015. Its lasted me till now and I think, the trick is to not wash them too often 😂 Similar to the cream trouser, the cream denim offers a softer pairing with more colourful clothing. Would work really well against black / monochromatic fit also.

9. Black midaxi dress. This has been my go-to when the weather is just too hot and I want something strappy, flowy, comfortable. It also has dual purposes if you layer a vest over. Voila it becomes a midaxi skirt.
