This is part one! I don’t even know where to start when it comes to all there is to eat in the Big Apple… 🍎🗽

It’s the anniversary of my month-long trip to NYC and I’m finally getting down to compiling all I’ve tried and tested there. I take my food. Very Seriously. So other than a few hiccups here and there, everything else was golden!!! 🤩

Here’s part one of all that I ate there and I hope it gives you some ideas if you’re planning on visiting NYC any time soon!

1️⃣ 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐟𝐮𝐤𝐮 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐤 𝐛𝐚𝐫

About ~USD5 for the iconic cereal milk soft serve. It’s served with cornflake bits which add a bit of crunch to it. This was my first American dessert and it didn’t disappoint. Surprisingly not too sweet (before this I had the misconception that the desserts there were CLOYING).

While I don’t find myself going out of the way to get it, if I was passing by I’d drop into the store and pick a cup (or cone!) up.

𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 7/10. Solid but it’s just a soft serve at the end of the day. Worth a try!

2️⃣ 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐞

This was my first Chipotle, and I had it along Hudson River.

First things first, the portions were amazing. One big dollop of guacamole for a small fee of USD2? Sign me right up.

My favourite protein to have with this was the steak but quality is hit-or-miss depending on the outlet! Sometimes my steak was overcooked… The carnitas were also really good.

𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 10/10!!!! You can’t not have chipotle if you’re in USA…pls…

3️⃣ 𝐄𝐬𝐬-𝐚-𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐥

Honestly, TMBH has nothing on these. I’ve yet to try others, but this place was recommended by my friends. The bagels were loaded…and I mean loaded. I shared this with a friend but we had trouble finishing them because it was just massive.

Sadly there was no place to have it in store so it was grab and go.

If you’ve tried other bagelries, let me know how they were!

𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 8/10. I would pick this up again but imo it’s pretty pricey for breakfast! I would like to try other bagelries as well.

4️⃣ 𝐢𝐇𝐎𝐏

Ok this isn’t a must-eat, but it’s defos worth a try at least once.

Pancakes were moist, fluffy, and the paragon of what American pancakes should be. Besides the maple syrup, I have to say the other sauces were REALLY sweet so you can give it a skip.

𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 7.5/10. Am I basic? Yes. Was this delicious? Also yes.

5️⃣ 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞

Peter Luger is on the pricier side but the steak was honestly fantastic, I couldn’t find any fault with it. Juicy, fatty, yet ridiculously tender. The cook was perfect, and the beef fat fries were fluffy and full of flavour.

The burger is a lunch special but it’s also really good and affordable. If you don’t want to splash out on the steak, I totally recommend getting the burger which was bursting with beefy goodness.

𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 9/10. If you can spare the cash, do yourself a favour and drop by here. It’s pretty pricey but hey, get the burger (around USD20) and that’s a great compromise.

📍 178 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11211, United States

6️⃣ 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤-𝐟𝐢𝐥-𝐀

I’m not really a fast food gal but I gotta give praise where praise is due: Chick-fil-A knows what it’s doing with its burgers. Flavourful, NOT dry, albeit a bit greasy (as fast food tends to be).

I tried its grilled chicken burger, too, which was much more up my alley (lol health nut or wtv). Love that the stores have the macros on the menu.

Pro-tip: scan the receipt and fill up the survey to get a free burger! So with every purchase of a burger, you get another one hehehe ;)

𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 7.5/10! Not a must-have for me but if it’s your first-time in USA, you have to try this. If you love fried chicken, you’ll love the burgers.

7️⃣ 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐳 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢

She’s an icon, she’s a legend, she’s the moment. Probably one of the most famous eats in NYC. I can say it’s worth the hype — thick slabs of beef accompanied by tart, sour pickles. The beef melts in your mouth and is bursting with flavour.

It’s expensive, I have to admit. This was about ~USD25 not including tips. Highly recommend dropping a USD5 into the tip box at the counter, the server will give you more.

𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 9/10! It’s NOT cheap, let’s be real, but would I return? Absolutely.

📍 205 E Houston St, New York, NY 10002, United States

8️⃣ 𝐋𝐨𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐬 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏

I know it’s up in the air about exactly who has the best tacos, but this is one of the unanimous spots.

I mean, you know it’s good when you hear everyone around you speaking Español 🤩 My fave was the carne asada, which was smokey and dripping with juices. I like the salsa station where you take your own condiments.

𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 10/10, ate this twice and will continue to eat this every time I come by.

📍 229 W 43rd St, New York, NY 10036, United States

9️⃣ 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞

My friend alerted me to these delightful-looking tarts. It’s not a well-known bakery by NYC standards but I loved this very much. Especially if you’re a tart person!

The Lemon Meringue was my favourite but the Mixed Berry one wa also lovely. I paid around $15 for both so it’s on the expensive side, but then again what in NYC isn’t? :’)

𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 9/10. Just beautiful and it tasted as good as it looks.
