Where to booth for creators? ⭐️

Hi there! Today I wanna talk about booth choices and locations, if you are planning to do one, I hope this post gonna be helpful! 🌈

Singapore so small right, so booth choices are indeed more limited~ I would categorise boothing locations into 2 sections, conventions and random public places.

If you are a creator, joining conventions would be a great way to start and to showcase your work to a curated audience. If you have fanart, AFA, Cosfest etc will be great for you as they focus on anime and game related content. If you do Original Art, you can also try such events as well! If not, there’s Public Garden, Artcade, Illustration Art Fest and more to apply for!

As such event are often curated and they receive a high volume of applications, don’t feel discouraged if you didn’t managed to get in 🙆🏻‍♀️ !! Usually for such conventions, most people came with a budget, they kinda know the market rate for the items sold too unlike public pop ups. Striking a potential sale is higher 😄

Alrighty, public pop ups. I think random places are kinda exciting for me cause it is filled with ‘surprises’ - who knows who you meet. I have to say that crowd flow will be slower - way way way slower than conventions and there will be a stress (to cover rental and break even) so your expectations gotta be lower. Malls has higher rentals 🥹 However, as conventions are not easy to get in, I will bite the bullet and try out other really random places haha! I’m the ‘never try never know’ girl 👧🏻 Boothing at such random malls depends on luck - if there’s a crowd too. I leave it to fate 🙏🏻

I think pop ups are great for me cause I get to showcase a huge portfolio, I can introduce people my art personally. It’s nice to see people stop by to take a look, leave words of encouragement or even buying my merchandise for themselves / as a gift. There’s so much satisfaction ⭐️ It’s really tiring to do a pop up, but it’s so so satisfying. This really motivates me to keep on doing pop ups as well. I am just praying my physical health allows me to continue doing it as long as I can 😂😂
